Are you really getting the workout you think you’re getting at home?
Work. School. Kids. Dinner. The list goes on.
Trust me, I get it.
I have about -3 hours of free time in a day.
Finding time to get to the gym can be tough.
You want to workout at home, but home workouts have their own downfalls..
The exercises get repetitive because you have limited, if any equipment..
And trying to gain muscle without strength training equipment can seem impossible.
Unless you have thousands to spend and a ton of room to setup a home gym, are there really any options?
The first item on this list is what inspired it, but once I started looking at it, I fell down the Amazon rabbit hole and I found some other pretty nifty and affordable home workout gear.
This one is a bit more expensive than the other items on this list, but compared to most home gym setups, it’s a steal!
I’m always perusing workout gear on Amazon so it wasn’t that shocking when this popped up on my suggested items.
Excpet for the fact that I had never seen anything like it before.
Am I alone on that? Maybe I’ve been living under a rock..
But this thing seems like a genius idea to me.
There are a TON of movements you can recreate with it, but the ones that really caught my attention were squats and deadlifts.
That’s the technical name for them, but you can do soo much more with these little guys guys than just pull ups.
You can basically do an entire full body workout with these resistance bands.
Here’s a chart I found showing some of their uses:
These are similar to the bands above, so you don’t really need both.
The bands above are more versatile, but these can be more convenient for certain exercises because of their handles.
For example. overhead press or bicep curls would be a bit easier with these.
You definitely don’t need both, but they are both pretty affordable if you want the convenience of the handles.
This one and the next item on this list are a must if you’re trying to build a booty at home.
In my booty building program, if you choose to do it at home, I strongly recommend them both.
5. Booty Bands
This is another form of resistance band.
You could double up the bands in #2 on this list and use them the same way, but…
If you’re doing a lot of glute work, these will make your life a lot easier since they are made with fabric, they’ll stay in place around your legs much better.
6. Jump Rope
Show me someone who likes cardio and I’ll show you a liar.
Seriously though, I hate cardio, but something about a jump rope makes it feel less like cardio and more like fun.
At least for a little bit.
That’s why I like keeping a jump rope around to switch it up once in a while!
7. TRX Straps
TRX straps are insanely versatile for home workouts.
They’re just 2 straps that don’t look like much at first glace, but here’s just a bit of what you can do with them:
Okay, this one is definitely the most expensive on this list, but..
I thought I would include it because if I were going to spring for one big home gym item, a cable machine would be it.
The cable machine at the gym is bar far my favorite and you can easily modify most movements to be done on it.
9. A PLAN!
The number one thing that causes people to fail in their at home workouts is not having a plan.
It’s easy to get distracted at home coupled with it being difficult to think of exercises to get a sufficient workout in.
Having a strategically laid out plan to follow will help you stay focused and make sure you get the most out of your workout.
Of course, I’m biased towards my own at home workout plan, but even if you don’t choose mine, I still highly recommend you do pick one to stick with!
